Today didn't start very well, with my legs feeling like silly putty. The first ~10 miles were grueling, but after pushing through for like an hour, they got back into the hang of things. I saw all the planets I could today's route (though I missed the dwarf planet Ceres 😔) and that was a nice way to add markers to the day's riding.

The riding was pretty good, all along Route 1 with a nice big shoulder. There are a lot of hills around here, but they're rolling, and too tall or too steep. I'd hoped to stop in Houlton for some lunch, but nearly every restaurant was closed, for some reason. And the one that should have been open was closed that day unexpectedly. So I had to opt for gas station food; tasty, but not quite what I wanted for lunch.

I made it to just before my campsite and grabbed some snacks from a local convenience store that was luckily open; it really is quite remote out here. Then I had a final few miles to my the actual campsite along cracked roads with the sharpest hills of the entire day. Not exactly how I wanted to end the day, but I made it.

The view at Greenland Campground on the lake was amazing. It was a Sunday night towards the end of the season so it was pretty empty and so, so quiet. Unfortunately it did rain at night, so I didn't get to see any dark skies, but I'm just glad my tent held up to the rain.
